Tostock at Christmas 2011.
Over the Christmas period Tostock Village celebrated many of the traditional festivities associated with the Festive Period.
There was the Christmas Tree Advent weekend where many of the Villages Clubs and Organisations made Christmas Trees to represent their interests. Mince pies and Mulled Wine were donated by the Parish Council and enjoyed by all!!!!
There was fudge and candy to buy as well as cakes.
At the end of November we held the Christmas Fayre in the Village Hall. People from around the surrounding villages came to enjoy the various goodies for sale. There were Christmas cards, paper, plants, gifts of all sorts, as well as The Raffle.
Christmas proper was celebrated with our annual Christmas Carol singing on the Green. Again it was well attended, we kept warm by the log fire and then enjoyed mince pies and mulled wine at Gail’s. The Hospice donatation was over a £100 ponds well done to Gail and her happy band of helpers, particularly Simon Spence who manfully kept up with us on the piano organ.
On Chrismas Eve the children enacted the nativity play at St Andrew’s Church, with the usual assortment of sheep, donkeys angels etc. A truely fitting way to celebrate the birth of Christ.
There was fudge and candy to buy as well as cakes.
